How To Make A Lego RC Car
lego rc car how to make a lego rc car youtube. Lego rc car how to make a lego rc car step by step guide with pictures . Lego rc cars are one of the most popular types of vehicles for children to play with and develop their motor skills.
If you’ve ever wanted to try making your own RC vehicle, there is nothing more satisfying than watching it come to life as you push it around the backyard or the local park. But if you don’t have much experience with Lego or RC cars, or if you’re just looking for some pointers on how to make them properly, this post is for you! In this post we will cover all the basics of building a lego rc car, plus we’ll go over some tips and tricks that can help make your project more enjoyable. We’ll also talk about how to modify your car if necessary. So let’s get started!
Step 1: Decide on Your Vehicle Type
There are two basic types of lego rc cars: trucks and helicopters. If you want a truck-style vehicle, choose a yellow or red car. If you want a helicopter-style vehicle, choose a blue or green car.
Step 2: Determine Your Needs
Before you start building your car, it’s important to determine what type of vehicle best suits your needs. For example, if you’re planning to use your car for racing, choose a faster vehicle that will be able to keep up with other racers. However, if you’re only going to be using your car for transportation, choose a slower vehicle that can safely navigate city streets.
Step 3: Measure Your Vehicle
Once you have decided on your vehicle type, measure your current vehicle (or the one you plan on building) in order to determine the necessary dimensions. The dimensions we’ll need include: length , width , and height . Length is simply the total length of the vehicle in inches – no matter what type of vehicle you are building.
Width refers to the width of the vehicle in inches – again, regardless of what type of vehicle you are building. Height refers to the height of the vehicle in inches – again, regardless of what type of vehicle you are building. Once you have these measurements, use a fabric cutter or hole punch to create a template for each dimension.
Cut out the template using either a hand or power saw and then iron each piece of material into place before continuing with the rest of your project. If you have a good quality fabric cutter like this one from Lowes , it will save you time and money since you won’t need to purchase additional materials.
Step 4: Measure Your Car
Now that you have your template in place, measure the length, width, and height of your current car using a tape measure or caliper . Use these measurements when planning your new vehicle – they will help ensure that your build is accurate and precise .
Step 5: Modify Required Dimensions
If your current car has longer or narrower measurements than required, you can modify them using an engineering template like this one from Lowes . Simply cut out the desired size using a fabric cutter or even scribe lines with a sharp pencil .
Drill holes through the appropriate section(s) with a drill bit slightly larger than the original measured dimension(s) . Be sure to clean off any excess glue or paint before removing the section(s) !
Step 6: Determine How Many Parts You Need
Once you’ve determined how many parts you need for your new car, use the diagram below to help you figure out where to go shopping in your home town: www.legosnapartstore.com/product_images/schematic_image/schematic_image_selector_selector_03.jpg This diagram shows three different scenarios: 1) You only need 1 part; 2) You need 2 parts; or 3) You need 3 parts. In each case, choose which scenario applies to you based on your geographical location .
Step 7: Order Parts
Once you’ve determined how many parts you need for your new car, visit www.legosnapartstore.com/product_images/schematic_image/schematic_image_selector_selector_03.jpg and select the correct schematic image according to your scenario above . Then click “Buy Now†on the schematic image page and follow the instructions to complete your purchase .
Step 8: Assemble Parts
Once all of your parts are ordered and ready to ship, assemble them all together using recommended glue and tools : http://www.lego.com/en-us/products/glue/glue-part-assembly-tools . Note that we strongly recommend against using liquid plastic glue on Lego products because it can damage them over time .
Step 9: Test Fit Parts
Once everything is assembled and tested fit properly , test drive your completed car as normal . Enjoy making your own lego rc car !
How To Make A Lego RC Car
If you’re looking for a fun way to meet new friends and enjoy Lego Robotics Competition training at the same time, then a lego rc car may be for you. All you need is a car body and some motors! Here’s how to make a lego rc car:
1. Determine What Size Body You Need
The first thing to decide is exactly what size body you need for your lego rc car. There are many factors that affect this including: number of wheels, angle of attack (the angle at which the airfoil is formed), and overall size. We list specific sizing information in each of our individual kits but generally speaking, here are some general guidelines:
Number of Wheels: 1-8 – Most standard lego cars have between 1-8 wheels. The number of wheels depends on the body style and overall size of the car. Angle of Attack: Flat – The surface area of the airfoil is flat (no angle). Dormant – The surface area of the airfoil is not flat but rather undulating (similar to a wave). Overall Size: Smaller – Generally speaking smaller bodies are easier to build and maintain due to increased surface area per unit volume. Larger – Generally speaking larger bodies are more difficult to build and maintain dueto increased mass per unit volume.
2. Choose Your Motor Case
Once you know what size body you need, it’s time to choose your motor case. There are many different types of motor cases available but we highly recommend opting for an electric starter motor case if possible . This makes it much easier to install and remove during future repairs should something break down while driving (which sometimes happens!).
3. Cut & Glue Parts Together
Once you have chosen your motor case , cut down pieces of cardboard or other suitable material to roughly the same size as needed for each part in your kit . For example , if one part requires 20mm x 20mm , cut 10cm x 10cm pieces from cardboard . Using scissors or mitre saw , carefully cut out each piece until it is roughly 20mm x 20mm . Glue these cuts together using super glue or epoxy . If using super glue , simply stick the bottom end to the top end as shown in the picture below . If using epoxy , fill any large gaps with super glue as shown in the picture below .
4. Finish With Superglue & Paint
Once all of your parts are glued together , finish them with superglue and paint as shown in the picture below .
With just a little patience and creativity , a lego rc car can become an instant hit with family and friends!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you create your own LEGO car?
Of course you can, and we’re about to show you how. All you need is a few LEGO elements, a box or bag, and of course, some patience.
First, use your imagination to come up with a design. You could create a vehicle that looks like a tank, for example. Next, take your pieces and arrange them in the desired way.
For example, if you want to create a tank-like car, then you would place the front row of studs on the front of the box or bag. Finally, paint or decorate your creation as desired using stickers and/or other materials. Once you have created your own LEGO car, be sure to share it with us on Facebook and Twitter! We’d love to see what you come up with next!
How do you make a super fast LEGO car?
One way to make a super fast LEGO car is to use a lot of small LEGO pieces. Each piece should be 1/8th the size of a regular LEGO brick. This will allow you to build up a huge, complicated structure in no time! Another way to make a super fast LEGO car is to add wheels to it.
These are usually located on the back of the vehicle, and they will help you to move it around quickly!
How do you power a LEGO car?
There are a few different ways to power your LEGO car. One way is to use an external battery pack. These are typically sold as portable batteries for electronic devices, and they can be used to power your LEGO car too.
You can also use an AC adapter to power your LEGO car. This will mean that you will need to have an AC power source nearby. Finally, you can also use a wall wart or a USB cable to connect your LEGO car to an external computer or drive.
