How to Connect a Potensic Drone to Your Phone (App by Model)

RC Drones

To connect a Potensic drone to your phone, install the right app for your model, power on the remote and the drone, then connect the phone to the remote: by USB/OTG cable on GPS models like the Atom SE (PotensicPro app), or over the drone’s Wi-Fi on older camera drones (Potensic-G app for T18, T25, T35). The Atom 2 is activated and flown with the Potensic Eve app. If the drone flies but the camera won’t show, the phone isn’t linked to the right app, cable or Wi-Fi. Here are the steps for each.

Which app does my Potensic drone use?

Drone App Phone connection
Atom 2 Potensic Eve Cable to the remote; activation in the app
Atom SE, Dreamer Mini 4K, Dreamer Pro, Dreamer 4K PotensicPro USB cable from remote to phone
T18, T25, T35 Potensic-G Drone’s Wi-Fi (or OTG on some versions)
Other / toy models (e.g. D-series) See the manual or box Usually the drone’s Wi-Fi

From Potensic manuals and support pages (Potensic), checked October 2026. App names change between generations; the manual’s QR code always links to the right app.

Connecting by cable (Atom series, Dreamer)

  1. Install the app (PotensicPro or Potensic Eve) and create or log in to an account if asked.
  2. Unfold the remote’s phone holder and attach the correct cable (Lightning, USB-C or Micro-USB) between remote and phone.
  3. Power on the remote, then the drone; wait until they link (remote light steady).
  4. Open the app and tap to enter the camera/flight view. On first use, follow activation and firmware prompts (needs internet).
  5. Wait for enough GPS satellites before take-off.

Connecting by Wi-Fi (T-series and camera toys)

  1. Power on the drone; it creates a Wi-Fi network (name on the label or in the manual).
  2. In your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, join that network. Stay connected if the phone warns “no internet”.
  3. Open the Potensic-G (or model-specific) app; the live video should appear.
  4. Pair the remote with the drone as the manual describes (often throttle up, then down).

Drone flies but the camera won’t connect

Cause Fix
Wrong app for the model Use the app from the manual’s QR code
Phone dropped the drone Wi-Fi Turn off “switch to mobile data” / smart network switch
Faulty or charge-only cable Use a data cable; try another port direction (OTG)
App permissions missing Allow camera, storage, location and (iPhone) local network
Outdated app or firmware Update while on home internet, then reconnect
Camera ribbon cable loose after a crash Contact Potensic support; don’t open warranty units

Tips for a stable connection

  • Keep the remote’s antennas parallel and facing the drone.
  • Fly away from Wi-Fi-crowded areas for Wi-Fi models.
  • Charge phone, remote and drone fully; low phone battery can drop the link.
  • Use flight mode on the phone for cable-connected models to avoid calls interrupting the app (download maps first).
  • Rules: drones of 250 g or more need registration in the US and EU.

FAQ

Why can my Potensic D50 fly but not connect to the camera?

The camera link runs separately from the remote. Join the drone’s Wi-Fi, use the app named in the D50 manual and allow app permissions.

Do I need internet to fly a Potensic drone?

For activation and updates, yes; for flying, no. Download maps beforehand.

Can I fly a Potensic drone without a phone?

Many models fly by remote alone, but without the phone you lose the camera view and flight data.

Which phones work with Potensic apps?

Current iPhones and Android phones that meet the app’s minimum version; check the app store listing.
